Acne: Home Made Remedies
Acne remedies are many; it is up to us to choose from the large number of available remedies. Before trying with any of these methods, first it is very important to determine the cause of acne. It might be due to puberty, due to pregnancy, due to hereditary etc.
Acne caused due to hormonal imbalances goes on its own with the passage of time, the same way when it is caused due to pregnancy. As pregnancy progresses it disappears on it’s own. Acne might also be due to poor diet and unhygienic conditions. Once the person takes the proper diet say a supplement of fresh vegetables and fruits and vitamin a can get you rid of acne. Proper exercise and keeping oneself clean by washing with a mild cleanser twice a day and using clean towels and bed covers also improves the skin complexion.
Home made remedies are better than make-up concealers and also better than oral medications as home made remedies are safer and cheaper too. Some of the tried homemade remedies are listed below:
Application of cooked oatmeal on the affected area , keeping it for 15 minutes time and washing it off will clear the impurities out of the skin as oatmeal is an astringent. Results are better visible after one or two week’s time.
A solution made of 30 drops of grapefruit seed extraction to 4 ounces of water is applied on the infected area with the help of a cotton ball 3 to 4 times a day. This acts as an excellent disinfectant.
Aloe-Vera plant juice or pulp helps as a disinfectant and increases the healing power.
Application of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice flushes the pores and normalize the skin’s pH is a quick remedy.
A mixture made up of one cup of yoghurt and half lemon juice is applied like a cream every day night will make even the blemished skin smooth within 3 to 4 weeks time.
Rubbing the cucumber peel wet side up and leaving it on overnight will help the acne to dry out instead of drying the whole face.
A mask made up of egg white and lemon juice, keeping it for half an hour and washing will help clearing the acne.
Two teaspoons of cornstarch with one teaspoon of vinegar when applied on the acne area for half an hour and washing with warm water and a wash cloth will also improve the skin complexion.
Applying benzyl peroxide is considered to be a very effective home remedy for acne as the oxygen in the benzyl peroxide helps to remove and kill the bacteria underlying the skin and the pores. Mint is also very effective when applied on acne.
