Taking Care of Acne Prone Skin

Acne – Prone Skin: Your skin is the most valuable asset in your body.  Hence it is of great importance to take care of your skin which is prone to acne.  A healthy regime can guard your skin from other forces attacking it.
 
It is very simple to adopt healthy habits than to spend large amount of skin care routines.  For example drinking plenty of water helps the skin to maintain the necessary moisture content and to shed the dead cells effectively. If you are habituated to wear make-up, be very sure to remove it at the end of the day without any traces.  This helps the skin to breathe, when you have to spend time in the sun, wear a sun screen which is anti acne, anti oily, the above steps might be very simple, but consistency in following the simple steps helps in making a big difference in the appearance of a glowing skin.

Facial skin care routine for acne prone skin:

You would have known the fact that you are prone to acne in the early teens, when you first saw blemishes and acne on your face due to hormone changes during puberty.  Some might have got acne after their teens that is during adult age due to unhealthy food habits and stress.  Once you know the fact it is wise to choose a cleanser made specifically for acne which normally consists of benzyl peroxide which is most prevalent and  effective way to treat acne as it releases the oxygen needed to the skin and salicylic acid which helps in clearing the sores caused by acne.

Clean and gentle wash at least twice a day is recommended to keep the skin aseptic and free from bacteria.

Personal hygiene plays an important role in controlling the adverse effects of acne.  Usage of clean pillow covers, combs, towels etc helps in controlling the spread of infections.

An oily hair can also be the root cause of acne, gentle and thorough cleaning of oily long hair is a must routine.

It is advised to use minimum make-up for acne prone skin or Cosmetics which are non-comedogenic, free from oil are recommended for acne prone skin.

It is better to use a medicated soap with a warm water rinse to clean the skin than to use a face wash as fragrance and chemicals used in it might trigger the acne infection.

Although break out acne might seem like it has appeared overnight, but actually it is not so it takes months to appear on the skin, hence it takes time for medication  to control acne and scarring.

Vitamin supplements like vitamin e, a and pantothenic acid (b5) helps in the prevention and cure for acne as it strengthens the immune system.  Mineral like zinc and antioxidants also reduces acne.  The vitamins and minerals can be either taken as food supplements or via foods which is rich in these vitamins and minerals.

Following the above routine and intake of healthy foods one can guard the skin from acne and also treat the skin after the onset of acne.
